Come Jam with us! Throw your name in the hat for a chance to hop on stage yourself. Or just watch the chaos unfold as both experienced and brand new performers will be thrown together and do an improvised comedy set right on the spot!

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: Support comes in many forms when performing long-form improv. You can support the scene from the backline, support your scene partner during the scene, and you can even support yourself. This workshop will go over the many types of support moves you have at your disposal during any given improv scene and sharpen your ability to execute them.
***Though no experience is required, this is not a introduction to improv, we recommend those interested in learning long-form to go through our class curriculum.

Get ready for a night out of laughter at House Party Improv inside Black Potion in the historic Deco District of San Antonio that has become a comedy hub. Bring yourself, bring friends or make it date night!
With a huge selection beer and wine at the bar, check in grab a drink, and then down the hall where you will find our hidden comedy theater where our resident troupe House Party are waiting for you along with new cast members and hilarious friends made up of San Antonio's best improv performers and special guests ready to put on a show made up on the spot from your suggestions! Every show is unique and will never be the same twice, but you can always count on laughing your ass off.
What is The Pretty Flower? It is a form of improv that is centered on a grounded main scene almost like a one act play that branches off into hilarious tangents exploring the characters lives in the past or the future as well as the world they inhabit yet always returning to our central scene. Like a flower with petals (get it?). Just come laugh and follow the fun!
The Scary Flower will apply the spirit of the Halloween season to this form, as our cast injects each story with horror, spooky things and maybe even a little pumpkin spice.

SHORT FORM IMPROV
Mondays

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE? This class is a great starting point if you are coming in with no experience but also will be very beneficial if you are an improviser with experience and interested in expanding repertoire. We will focus on strengthening your comedic voice, having fun on stage, and a multitude of other ways to generate comedy in improv. You’ll learn a wide variety of short form games, how to approach this style of improv and leave with a sharpened set of tools for your characters, scene work, and tips and tricks you can apply to all of your performances like playing with the mindset of "today's the day". This class will be a fun time with a lot of silliness, and you can use what you learn in whatever style of improv you are doing!

Friday Night Improv
This is our staple show and the best weekly comedy show in San Antonio. Every Friday evening, a brand new comedy show is made up on the spot by the cast of our house troupe House Party. The show is a variety of acts including short form games like you would see on Wild N’ Out or Whose Line Is It Anyway followed by Long-form sets that can be described as a collection of connected skits or a hilarious improvised narrative play. Guest performances from other improv teams to stand up comics grace our stage often from all over San Antonio, Austin, and all across the country.
